I’m in California visiting my parents and I got to talking with my father about flashlights the other day. I had seen an article on digg about a flashlight that can actually burn a piece of paper with it’s intense beam. Crazy!

Wicked Lasers Website is the site that’s selling them (not that I’m trying to advertise them or anything!)

They are, as I write this, out of stock but for being the supposedly brightest flashlight in the world. I’m not in the least bit surprised. It’s expensive for a flashlight but if I had a cool $400 I could just throw away then that would be one of the first (not the first because I want an iphone) things that I buy.

Speed up Firefox

First I’ve got a tip from my house-mate (a geek) about how to speed up Firefox. I was a little skeptical at first, I understand if you are too, but it really does speed up Firefox and is worth a try. I only suggest doing this if you are on a high speed connection but at the same time if you aren’t on a high speed connection by now then you should be figuring out how to get on one (and then do this).

1.Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer.

Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0″.

This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

Have fun with a faster Firefox and enjoy!

So I was doing some SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for the company I work for (Americas-Pet-Store.com) and came across a weird website. If you are easily offended or don’t have the great sense of humor then I don’t suggest checking this site out. I think it’s funny but I completely understand why some people wouldn’t like it at all.

The site is Cats That Look Like Hitler. I think the funniest part of it is that the cat’s really do have a similar look (with the little goatee thingy) and they have tons of pictures. I read the comments from people that like and don’t like the site and it just makes me laugh. I hope you have a fun time checking it out.

New Host and A Much Needed Upgrade

And a ton of trouble. So I wanted to update the site so that I could implement a slick new plug in for my picture gallery. I’m not saying yet what it is until I get it up and going. But I promise that it will be good. I’m still fixing all the bugs of changing hosting and upgrading but I expect things to come back around soon. Keep an eye out!
