I got my hands on a job and started this week. I’m now a technical support professional as they call it. Now I’m spending my days at a company called Stream that’s located just outside of Portland in a suburb called Beaverton. Stream has many contracts with large well known companies to do technical support and basically call center support. It’s a big place. I’m not sure if I can mention which company I’m doing support for, as there is confidentiality details I’m not sure of, but I can say it’s the industry leader in image, video, and web manipulation, creating, and desgin. I think you know…
There are some really good points which I’m looking forward to: I’m being extensively trained by people that know what they are doing. The down time will be good time to utilize to do other projects and learn more about the software. And the people seem to be mostly cool which when it comes down to it really can make a difference.
I’m thinking to myself that as I write this I’m in my break from going to work and sleeping. So I’ll make it short and get some much needed sleep time before the weekend comes rumbling in. Have a great weekend!

Check out this page when you get a chance. I’ve always wanted a funny vanity plate but it’s never something I’m thinking about when I ever have gone to the DMV. I hate the DMV…

For a while now I’ve known that one of my photos from a trip might be included in a online map called Shmap. Today I just got word that it’s going to be used and when I went to check out the site I low and behold I found a copy of it on their site.

Pretty neat…

I can link to the stories or just give the short version, which I think I’m going to do.
Store owners in England came up with a new speaker / audio device that emits a high pitched noise in order to thrawt away young kids that keep loitering around their stores. The high pitched noise is around the 17.4khz range and can only be heard by people under the age of approximately 24.
That’s an interesting and good thought. I certainly wouldn’t like it if I was younger and my favorite store or shop had one going but then again I don’t think I’d be shopping at places that would be using such an annoying device.
Even more interesting to me is that the kids out smarted the adults. There’s now websites that offer the frequency for ring tones. Now the teacher, parent, or anyone else over 25 isn’t going to hear that the young’n keeps getting txt’s from his girlfriend.
Check out this site that offeres different ring frequences so you can tell which ones you can and can’t hear.
Ouch! According to this and my ears I can’t hear the ones under 30 years old.
