Lauren and I set off for our nice, long, and much needed trip out west to see the sites of the Pacific Northwest. We started off being very optimistic until the Burlington airport (actually the Newark airport) killed our dreams and hopes. Really, it’s not that bad but they delayed our first flight out of Burlington for two hours because of bad weather in Newark, NJ which made us miss our San Fran. flight by about 15 min. We did our research before leaving Burlington to find out that there wasn’t a single hotel available anywhere near Newark. So we played it by ear and went to Newark and talked to the nice people at the ticket counter (yeah, right). “We can’t do anything for you” is basically all she said and with that we were screwed minus the meal vouchers that we used for our $9 beers/dinner. No place to sleep and no flight to San Fran. untill Sunday morning. So we spent the night in the airport in the most uncomfortable positions and different areas of the terminal to get about an hour or less of crappy sleep. Just awesome! Well we ended up getting to San Francisco and it was all good. All that really mattered was that me and Lauren got to spend some quality time shuffling around good ‘ol Newark (and believe it or not we actually got our lugguage after all that!).
Check out the photo’s page for a bunch of pic’s of us all over the place.
