So I went to Circuit City around my area because I heard of the liquidation happening staring this weekend and figured I’d find some good deals. I was mistaken.
I hope it gets better and I assume it will but right now I’m only seeing about 10% off normal price deals on pretty much everything except open box items and CDs / Movies / DVDs which were marked at 20% off.
I’ve read an article recently (I wish I had saved the link) about all the deals happening at retailers across the board and peoples perception of a good deal these days. According to the article, with sales happening everywhere in these recession times most people don’t think twice when they see a 40% sale but when it’s 60-80% off people start checking things out.
I agree. This sale is a prime example. 10% off at a liquidation sale is not enough for me to even think twice about. If I’m going to a sale like this I’m looking for some deep discounts. So for me I think I’m going to wait a bit and see if things get bumped up a bit before I throw down my hard earned buck.
